Are you a seasoned Commercial Manager looking for a new challenge in the power sector? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to lead the commercial aspects within high-profile multi-million-pound power frameworks for a major energy provider.
Our client, a leading civil engineering contractor, has won several new substations, overhead line and subsea cable routes across the North of Scotland. Therefore, you may be required to travel as part of your role.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the commercial management of projects within the power sector, ensuring financial performance and compliance.
Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors and other commercial professionals.
Manage contract negotiations, procurement processes, and supplier relationships.
Provide strategic advice on contractual matters, dispute resolution, and risk management.
Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Qualifications and Skills:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Extensive experience as a Commercial Manager within the construction or power industry.
In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and commercial management.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, etc.) is desirable but not essential.
