About the Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established infrastructure and specialist contracting organisation that delivers maintenance, preservation and asset enhancement solutions across major transport and construction networks throughout the UK.

This is a senior commercial appointment offering the opportunity to play a key role in the strategic and financial management of a specialist business division. The successful candidate will work closely with operational leadership teams to maximise commercial performance, strengthen controls and procedures, and support the continued growth of the business.

The role would suit an experienced Commercial Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor who is looking to take ownership of a commercial function within a growing and technically focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership across all commercial activities, ensuring robust contract administration and financial management.
Oversee project cost management, forecasting, valuation processes and profitability reporting.
Identify, assess and manage commercial and contractual risks whilst maintaining compliance with company procedures.
Partner with operational teams to provide guidance on commercial matters throughout project lifecycles.
Lead procurement activities and contribute to the development of supply chain strategies.
Manage and support key commercial personnel, including bid and procurement functions.
Work collaboratively with estimating teams to ensure consistency in pricing, tender submissions and commercial strategy.
Contribute to business planning, pipeline reviews and wider strategic initiatives.
Produce accurate commercial reporting for senior stakeholders and support informed decision-making.
Assist in strengthening commercial governance and improving overall business performance.Candidate Requirements

Previous experience operating at Commercial Manager, Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor level within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure or highways environments.
Strong understanding of commercial management principles, contract administration and cost control processes.
Experience managing procurement activities and working with subcontractor and supplier networks.
Exposure to tender preparation, bid support and commercial input during pre-construction stages.
Proven ability to influence and collaborate with senior operational and business stakeholders.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
Commercially astute with the ability to balance strategic objectives alongside day-to-day operational requirements.
