Job Title: Commercial Manager

Location: Hertfordshire

Are you an experienced Commercial Manager seeking an exciting opportunity working on HS2. My client are currently looking for a talented individual to join their Commercial team as a Commercial Manager. In this role, you will primarily oversee the commercial management of their C1 North Package of works while leading a small team. If you have a strong background in contract administration, subcontractor management, cost control, and change management, coupled with exceptional leadership skills, we want to hear from you.

Contract Administration: Efficiently manage all commercial functions of assigned packages of work. Provide commercial support to the Project Director, Commercial Director, and the Commercial Team in ensuring project delivery.

Subcontractors / Procurement: Negotiate terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers to optimise risk allocation and deliver best value to the project and the Client. Ensure compliance with subcontract and supplier contracts. Review and approve payment of interim and final accounts.

Cost Management: Collect, collate, and report costs/value in accordance with requirements. Prepare and submit interim applications for payment and finalise accounts.

Change Management: Manage early warnings, compensation events, and submission of quotations in compliance with contract conditions. Prepare, submit, and agree on variations and compensation events.

People Management: Support, develop, coach, and mentor your team to ensure high performance and professional growth.

About You - Skills & Experience:

Demonstrable experience as a Commercial Manager with a proven track record of working on projects.
Strong negotiation skills, people management abilities, and effective stakeholder engagement.
Proficiency in managing multiple priorities to meet stringent deadlines.
Strong knowledge of NEC and experience in subcontractor management.
