Lead Engineer/ Heat Pump Supervisor – Overview

We are working with a successful and established Renewable Energy company who are looking for a Lead Engineer/ Supervisor with experience on Commercial Heat Pumps to join their Operations & Maintenance team. They have recently won a new contract covering PPM, Reactive Maintenance and Repairs to Heat Pumps and associated systems within predominantly light commercial properties. The role will be as a Lead Engineer/ working Supervisor initially however as you grow and develop the team, you will come off of the tools into a Management role.

The company specialise within providing centralised Heat Pump Networks as well as individual heat pumps to light commercial properties such as Retirement Homes and Care properties which have a central plant room with a Heat Pump which provides heating to a number of different smaller properties such as flats. You will work both on the tools and supervising a team of Heat Pump Engineers & Plumbers who work predominantly in the plant room carrying out pre planned maintenance, reactive repairs and fault finding works on the Heat Pumps ranging from 80-120KW and upwards. You will also work on the associated systems in the plant room such as pumps, strainers, electrical controls and more. The have over 200 existing sites and the new contract is set to grow over the next 12 months. You will also help to onboard, train and develop new Engineers to grow your team, eventually stepping off of the tools and having the opportunity to progress with the company.

The sites are based throughout the Northern Home Counties so someone based in Luton, St Albans, Hertfordshire or surrounding would be ideal.

The company do operate an out of hours call out rota which runs at 1-in-4 however, due to them working mostly with Daikin & NIBE heat pumps, they have full remote monitoring of the systems as well. Usually, they can log in remotely, identify the fault and book in the repair for the following day so there shouldn’t be too much need to be called out unless it is an absolute emergency. They pay £150 retainer for the call out rota as well as overtime rates if called out.

Lead Engineer/ Heat Pump Supervisor – Requirements

* Experience with Commercial Heat Pumps as a Lead Engineer/Supervisor

* NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating

* Unvented G3 & Water Regs

* F Gas 2079 (Advantageous)

* Electrical knowledge including use of a multi-meter

Lead Engineer/ Heat Pump Supervisor – Salary & Remuneration

* Salary £45,000 - £55,000

* Company Vehicle + Fuel Card

* £150 retainer for Call Out + Overtime Rates if called out
