Position: Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Stockton-on-Tees

Salary: £45,000 + approx. £5,000 call-out allowance, Van/Fuel Card, PPE & basic Tools, 25 days holiday + 8 days Banks, Pension, OT available paid at increased rates.

Purpose of the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing mechanical and electrical services business operating across the North of England.

The successful candidate will undertake service, maintenance, repair and installation of commercial gas and mechanical systems across schools, universities, public sector buildings, MOD sites and industrial premises.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and independently deliver commercial gas maintenance, repair and installation works.
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance and fault finding.
Complete gas safety documentation, job sheets and certification.
Liaise professionally with clients and provide excellent customer service.
Identify and report additional works required.
Work safely and in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Support and mentor less experienced engineers and apprentices.
Participate in the call-out rota, approximately 1 in 5/6 weeks.
You must have or hold

Minimum 3 years' Commercial Gas experience.
Commercial Gas qualifications including CORT1, CIGA1, ICPN1, TPCP1 and TPCPIA.
COMCATs and Laundry experience.
Experience with unvented water heaters.
Good understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and M&E regulations.
Site Safety/CSCS Health & Safety qualification or equivalent.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple sites.
Full UK driving licence.
Successful applicants will be subject to advanced DBS, Police & MOD vetting.
Desirable

Domestic Gas (CCN1), LPG, IOSH / SSSTS / SMSTS, IPAF & PASMA
Air/Ground Source Heat Pump experience, Water Regulations 1999, OFTEC
Measuring and quotation preparation
Progression through the company is possible, with in-depth experience of the role being an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided where required.
