Yourconstruction are delighted to be recruiting for Commercial Gas Engineers in the South East of the UK

We are looking to recruit an experienced and established mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join their service team.

Responsible for carrying out inspections, installations, service, maintenance and breakdown of commercially purposed boilers and systems.

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

* Assist with the installation of new systems, boilers and related equipment and ensure safety compliance

* Carry out repairs and deal with breakdowns when they occur, diagnose issues,perform repairs and replace faulty components

* Troublehoot problems relating to gas supply, pressure and system functionalityand feedback to supervisor to promote other business opportunities

* Carry out gas safety checks to ensure systems meet safety standard, identify potential hazards and address any issues

* Involvement in plant room refurbishments upgrading systems, replacing equipment and optimising energy efficiency

* Being part of the on call team (on rotation) for emergency call outs to provide oncall services to address emergency issues

* Responsible for Health and Safety on site

* Completion of risk assessment, RAMs and other required processes to ensure compliance

* Ensure correct use of PPE where required

* Reporting incidents and near misses

* Ensuring the safety of others when completing works

* Carry out the servicing, repair and commissioning of boiler plant, gas appliances

and plant room equipment

* Completion of engineer reports, test sheets, service records and other required

documentation

* Obtain and log equipment details and part numbers in order to facilitate ordering spares

* Responsible for equipment hired / required on site and its correct logging and return

Essential Skills

Proven experience in a similar role

Proficiency in using technology to manage workflow and reporting

Customer service attitude

Preferred Skills

Asbestos Awareness CSCS Card Working at heights Manual handling.

Your skills:

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with commercial gas installations.

* Gas Safe: COCN1, ICPN1, TCPA1, TPCP1, BMP1, CDGA1, CIGA1 as a minimum

* Preferred OFTEC 101, 105, 600A and 201

* Trained and comfortable to work within confined spaces with the use of “escape sets” and “fall arrest” equipment.

* Emergency first aid at work

* Basic knowledge of biogas systems in the water industry would be advantageous.

* Ability to work on your own, or as part of a team.

* A ‘can do’ attitude, and willing to help others.

Your hours:

Working 5 days a week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am till 5.30pm.

Salary starts from £47,300 on call 1 in 5 weeks - 1 fixed payment and an inflated rate for callouts

Salary review in August
