Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Morpeth

Position: Full-Time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary: £40,000 - £46,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

On-Call: 1 in 5 Rota

The Role

We are looking for a qualified Commercial Gas & Heating Engineer to manage, maintain, and repair gas and heating systems on a static contract in Morpeth. You will be responsible for keeping all systems safe, compliant, and fully operational through a mixture of scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities

Complete all gas safety inspections and testing, including issuing CP15 and CP17 certifications.

Maintain, repair, and replace commercial gas-fired boilers, commercial gas infrastructure, and heating systems.

Diagnose and resolve technical faults using professional diagnostic equipment.

Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and handle reactive work orders efficiently.

Read and follow technical drawings and manufacturer instructions to complete complex repairs.

Supervise and escort specialist contractors during site visits.

Participate in the 1-in-5 on-call rota to ensure continuous site coverage.

What We Are Looking For

Certification: Current Gas Safe Registration.

ACS Qualifications: Relevant commercial tickets such as COCN1, CDGA1, and ICPN1.

Experience: Proven commercial experience with solid background knowledge of commercial-scale gas and heating systems.

Background: Prior experience in Facilities Management (FM) or working within secure/operational environments is preferred.

Skills: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, with a strong willingness to undertake further technical training.

Vetting: Ability to pass standard security vetting required for secure site access.

What We Offer

Salary: Competitive salary range of £40,000 - £46,000 per annum.

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week on a reliable Monday to Friday schedule.

Generous Holiday: 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).

Pension Scheme: 6% company pension contribution (with flexibility to increase or decrease).

Job Security: Permanent full-time contract on a stable static site.
