Commercial Gas Engineer
Location: London & Home Counties
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Excellent Package
Are you an experienced Gas Engineer looking for a varied role covering both domestic and commercial properties
We are looking for a skilled Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing mechanical team, covering a portfolio of residential developments, commercial buildings, plant rooms and high-end residential sites across London and the Home Counties.
The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position involving planned preventative maintenance, servicing, fault finding, breakdowns, remedial works, quoted works and installations. You will work independently across a range of domestic and commercial gas and heating systems while maintaining a high standard of workmanship and customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
Carrying out PPM, servicing, diagnostics and repairs on domestic and commercial gas systems
Servicing and maintaining boilers, commercial plant, warm air units, radiant heaters and associated hot water systems
Carrying out combustion analysis, flue gas analysis and gas safety checks
Diagnosing faults with boilers, appliances, controls, pumps and associated mechanical plant
Completing breakdown repairs, component replacements and recommissioning works
Carrying out remedial works, replacements, upgrades and installations
Working on commercial boiler plant and larger heating systems
Completing accurate job sheets, readings, test results, photographs and reports
Identifying additional remedial works and providing clear technical recommendations
Liaising professionally with clients, estate managers, residents, concierge teams and other contractors
Completing all relevant compliance and site documentation
Wider Mechanical Experience
Experience working on wider mechanical systems would be highly beneficial, including:
Pumps and circulation systems
Pressurisation units
Expansion vessels
Heat exchangers
Heating and hot water plant
Unvented cylinders
Valves, controls and actuators
Plant room equipment
Ventilation and associated mechanical services
Electrical or multi-skilled experience, including basic controls, wiring, BMS interfaces and electrically operated mechanical equipment, would also be advantageous.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Current Gas Safe registration with relevant domestic and/or commercial competencies
* Strong experience across domestic and commercial gas systems
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Experience working on boilers and associated heating and hot water plant
* A full UK driving licence
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to work independently and manage your own workload

* Domestic Gas qualifications
* G3 Unvented Hot Water
* Water Regulations / Water Fittings Regulations
* LPG experience
* Oil-fired heating experience
* Electrical qualifications or experience
* Commercial boiler plant experience
* BMS and heating controls experience
* Manufacturer-specific boiler training
* Experience within PPM or FM contracts
