Role Summary
The Commercial Financial Controller will oversee financial operations, commercial performance, and operational efficiency for a privately owned e‑commerce business. You will ensure strong financial governance while enabling profitable growth across digital, marketplace, and supply chain channels. This role suits a commercially minded leader who can blend strategic insight with hands‑on operational control.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Strategy — Lead budgeting, forecasting, cashflow management, and long‑range commercial modelling to support growth plans.
Operational Finance — Strengthen inventory accuracy, optimise supply chain costs, and improve end‑to‑end operational efficiency.
Commercial Analysis — Deliver actionable insights on margin performance, stock turns, promotional effectiveness, and trading trends.
Team Leadership — Manage and develop finance professionals while partnering closely with operations, logistics, merchandising, and marketplace teams.
Governance — Maintain robust financial controls, compliance, audit readiness, and risk management frameworks.
Requirements
ACA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA or equivalent preferred.
10+ years’ leadership experience in e‑commerce, supply chain, retail, or marketplace environments.
Strong operational, inventory, and supply chain management expertise.
Proven experience leading cross‑functional teams in high‑growth environments.
Strong analytical, commercial, and decision‑making skills.
