Job Summary
My client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Commercial Director / Acting Managing Director to lead our organization’s commercial initiatives and drive sustainable growth. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all aspects of sales, marketing, business development, and client relationships. Your leadership will inspire teams to achieve ambitious targets while fostering innovative approaches to market expansion. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with a passion for building strong partnerships, identifying new opportunities, and delivering exceptional value to our clients and stakeholders.
Duties
* Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the business.
* Assume full commercial and P&L responsibility.
* Review the existing business strategy and identify opportunities to improve performance.
* Strengthen relationships with key suppliers, ensuring the business maximises its commercial opportunities.
* Identify and develop opportunities across existing and emerging international markets, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa and other territories where there is strong commercial potential.
* Re-engage with existing customers and markets where there is an opportunity to increase sales and develop stronger commercial relationships.
* Represent the business at relevant exhibitions, trade shows and industry events, using these opportunities to develop new relationships and understand emerging market trends.
* Work closely with the wider leadership team to ensure the business operates efficiently and effectively.
* Lead the organisation through its next phase of development, creating a positive, ambitious and commercially focused culture.
Experience
* Proven experience in senior management roles within sales, marketing, or business development, preferably in a fast-paced industry environment.
* Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic plans that resulted in measurable growth.
* Strong management skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively while promoting collaboration and innovation.
* Excellent leadership qualities with a track record of inspiring teams toward achieving ambitious goals.
* Deep understanding of market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscapes.
* Exceptional negotiation skills with experience closing high-value deals and forming strategic alliances.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; advanced qualifications are a plus
