Panoramic Associates are working with a council in the Midlands who are in the search for a Commercial Contracts Lawyer to support the Head of Service, Legal Services Manager, and Team Leaders in delivering a reliable, proactive, and accessible Legal Service. The successful candidate will provide practical and solution-focused legal advice to Members, Officers, and collaborative partners, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and the Councils' constitution.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Advise Members and Officers on legal matters to ensure compliance with the law.
Deputise for Team Leaders as necessary.
Contribute to the effective delivery of a value-for-money legal service.
Fulfil additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Handle a full range of contracts and procurement matters, including grants, government funding schemes, IT contracts, and framework agreements.
Act as a trusted point of contact for client departments on public procurement advice.
Provide additional support to the Housing team on accommodation, homelessness transition, and complex care issues.
Advise on Construction contracts, predominantly JCTs, with occasional NECs.Requirements

Preference for an experienced Solicitor with a strong background in public sector contracts and local government.
Previous experience advising a District Council is preferred.
Additional preference for Construction experience.
Character is paramount; candidates should demonstrate confidence in handling matters independently; ability to research and seek solutions autonomously is essential.
