We are recruiting an Academic Learning Mentor to support learners at a Further Education college in Central London, working primarily across Maths, English and IT.

This role focuses on academic mentoring, classroom support and learner engagement, supporting students aged 16–19 and adult learners to progress and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

*

Provide 1:1 and small-group academic support in Maths, English and/or IT

*

Support learners with study skills, organisation and engagement

*

Assist teaching staff during lessons and learning activities

*

Support students with SEN, SEMH, EAL or well-being needs

*

Track learner progress and contribute to reviews and support plans

*

Promote positive behaviour, confidence and resilience

Requirements

*

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)

*

Experience supporting learners in a school or FE setting

*

Strong communication, empathy and relationship-building skills

*

Calm, proactive and student-focused approach

*

Ability to work effectively as part of a wider college team

(Relevant qualifications desirable but not essential)
