SCIENTISTS, INSIDE IR35

This position will work as part of the Earth System and Mitigation Science (ESMS) team working as part of the AmazonFACE project .

AmazonFACE is a large international experiment project aimed at better understanding and quantifying the response of tropical forests to rising atmospheric CO2 concentrations. T

he project is primarily a partnership between the UK and Brazil led by the Met Office in the UK and National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA) in Brazil.

This post will be based in Exeter, UK and work with Unified Model (UM)

The post will design, run and analyse experiments assessing the impact of the CO2 response of vegetation on contemporary and future regional climate and its subsequent feedback. The contractor will develop the model incorporating new science components from the wider project.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

* PhD or equivalent

* Knowledge and ability to run climate models, preferably UM based setups including UKESM

* Knowledge and experience of analysing climate model data

Security clearance – you must meet security requirements to work unsupervised
