Hours: Monday–Thursday 08:00–17:00, Friday 08:00–13:00

We are recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner – Fixed Head Setter / Programmer to join an established, high-precision engineering business based in Watford.
The company specialises in the manufacture of precision components for the aerospace sector, working on small to medium batch production using modern CNC machinery. The Role
As a CNC Turner – Fixed Head Setter / Programmer, you will be responsible for setting, programming and operating Doosan CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components.
You will work to tight tolerances across a range of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, brass, glass-filled nylon, acetal and titanium.
The role will involve both prototype and repeat batch production, with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
* Set and program Doosan CNC fixed head lathes for precision component manufacture
* Produce small to medium batch components to exacting standards
* Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
* Work with a range of metals, plastics and specialist materials
* Troubleshoot machining issues and optimise programmes and processes
* Work closely with the wider production team to meet manufacturing schedules
* Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
* Proven experience as a CNC Turner / CNC Turning Setter Programmer
* Experience setting and programming CNC lathes
* Experience with Doosan CNC machines would be highly beneficial
* Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings
* Experience working to tight tolerances
* Experience machining a variety of materials, including stainless steel and titanium
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* An engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification is desirable, although relevant industry experience will be considered
