CNC Turning Engineer

Location: Stirling
Salary: £35-40k
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A leading precision engineering manufacturer is looking for an experienced CNC Turning Engineer to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC machinist with strong turning experience who is confident with programming, setting and operating CNC mill/turn machinery.

The Role

*

Program, set and operate CNC mill/turn lathes, specifically Mori NLX2500/700 machines with Mitsubishi controls.

*

Program machines offline using Fusion 360.

*

Produce high-quality components to precise customer specifications and required tolerances.

*

Interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and job sheet requirements.

*

Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks.

*

Use measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers and bore gauges.

*

Identify and resolve machining issues including tool wear, dimensional variation and surface-finish problems.

*

Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling and programming issues.

*

Prepare components for secondary operations including surface treatments, finishing, fitting and tapping.

*

Carry out machinery health checks, servicing and maintenance as required.

*

Raise any concession requests, NCRs or potential production delays with the CNC Manager.

*

Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

*

Attend relevant training where required.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

*

Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC turning or mill/turn machinery.

*

Experience with Mori NLX machines would be advantageous.

*

Mitsubishi control experience.

*

Experience programming offline using Fusion 360.

*

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.

*

Strong inspection and measurement skills.

*

Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.

*

Good understanding of tooling, machining processes and problem solving.

*

A strong commitment to health & safety and quality.
