Due to this, coupled with consistent growth in the order book, there is an exciting opportunity available for a skilled and experience CNC Machinist in the Turning department.
Job Profile
As the successful CNC Turner / Production Engineer in the Turning department, your main functions will be as a CNC Machinist, programming and operating 2axis Doosan and Mazak CNC lathes (with live tooling), machining components to exacting tolerances, and play a key role in with shopfloor process improvements.
Duties:
* CNC Turning - programming setting and operating 2 axis CNC Lathes (Doosan & Mazak) with live tooling.
* Programming will be on the control at the machine.
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to create / write programs from scratch on the CNC Lathe machines with Fanuc controls.
* Producing components to tight tolerances from various metals.
* Speeding up of current production processes to meet customer requirements.
* Involvement with shopfloor process issues / improvements.
* Ordering of new tools for NPI projects.
* Involvement with the toolmakers on all new work.
Skills & Attributes:
* At least 5 years’ experience as a CNC Machinist with CNC machining / engineering background.
* Fully able to read drawings and customer standards.
* Able to programme and set Mazak and Doosan 2-axis lathe machine with live tooling from scratch.
* Experience with shopfloor process issues / improvements.
Hours:
* 39 hours per week.
* Working hours are 07:30 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 to 12:30 on Friday’s.
* Overtime available.
* £38.000PA (£18.73p/hr over 39hrs per week).
