EMBS Recruitment Ltd is working in partnership with a leading precision engineering manufacturer, located in Rotherham, that is currently in the market for a CNC Setter to join their company permanently.

This market leader is a well-established entity within the precision engineering industries and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components.

Responsibilities

Due to internal changes and off the back of continued success, our client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter to manage CNC equipment from set-up through to operation, including routine safety checks.

Your responsibilities will include:

As a CNC Setter, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery, ensuring parts are produced to specification and quality standards are maintained throughout, and be able to edit programs effectively using FANUC controls

You will:

* Produce parts from information contained in job cards, reading and understanding technical drawings including tool cutting paths and TNR compensation

* Read and edit CNC programs where required

* Select and set the correct tooling for each job

* Check physical seal dimensions using mechanical and optical measuring equipment, ensuring components meet drawing tolerances

* Carry out batch inspections at regular intervals as defined by SOP, disposing of any non-conforming parts

* Set and operate multiple CNC machines as required

* Run first-offs and check dimensions against drawings, making adjustments as necessary

* Log job details (start/end times etc.) via barcode scanning for traceability

* Reinstate the work area before starting each new job

Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:

* Time-served or equivalent experience in engineering production

* Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and works orders

* Flexibility to run multiple CNC machines and move between products/areas

* Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload

* A methodical, disciplined approach with good housekeeping standards

* A high standard of health & safety awareness, including correct PPE use

* Proof of right to work in the UK
