CNC Setter/Operator
Commutable from:
Bedford, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Biggleswade, Huntingdon
Salary: £15.00 - £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Working Hours
* ·Monday to Thursday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
* ·Friday: 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (early finish)
* ·Flexible start and finish times of up to 15 minutes
Breaks
* 15-minute paid break
* 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Holiday Entitlement

Key Responsibilities
* Set up and operate CNC milling machines to detailed product requirements.
* Work on 2-axis, 3-axis, and 5-axis CNC machines, primarily Doosan and Haas, although candidates with experience on other CNC machine makes will also be considered.
* Use precision measuring equipment, including verniers, calipers, micrometers, and other inspection tools, to ensure components meet drawing and quality specifications.
* Operate machinery safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards.
* Carry out in-process inspections, including gauging, dimensional checks, and deburring.
* Perform basic machine maintenance and keep equipment clean and in good working order.
* Replace worn or damaged tooling promptly.
* Ensure workpieces are correctly loaded and securely clamped.
* Report machine faults, tooling issues, or quality concerns immediately.
* Identify and suggest process improvements to improve efficiency and quality.
* Complete all required quality, production, and inspection documentation.
* Maintain compliance with Health & Safety requirements, ISO 9000, AS9100, and company procedures.
Essential Requirements
* General education to Level 2.
* Engineering qualification.
* Previous experience as a CNC Miller Setter/Operator within a precision engineering environment.
* Experience working with CNC machine tools and automated machinery.
* Knowledge of CNC milling operations, tooling, and inspection methods.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn.
