Location: Fradley, Staffordshire

Salary: £41,000 - £49,000 per annum (£20.74 - £24.79 per hour) including shift premium

Job type: Permanent, Full Time - Thursday - Sunday

Kyocera SGS Precision Tools is a leading manufacturer of solid carbide cutting tools, renowned for designing high-performance solutions for machining challenging materials such as stainless steel and titanium. We support industries such as aerospace, medical, power generation, and motorsports by solving complex manufacturing challenges and improving process efficiency.

We're now entering an exciting phase of growth, relocating to the Midlands to unite Kyocera SGS and Kyocera Unimerco Tooling under one roof; forming Kyocera's largest carbide tooling site in Europe.

As part of this expansion, we're looking for experienced CNC Setter/Operators to join our team.

About the role

You'll be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining 5/6 axis CNC grinding machines-primarily Walter Helitronic and Rollomatic Tool & Cutter Grinders. You'll also work with Helicheck inspection systems and be involved in wheel dressing and balancing.

Key duties

Set up and operate CNC grinding machines to produce precision carbide tooling
Maintain product specifications and inspect output using appropriate measuring equipment
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues
Track shop floor data including machine monitoring and WIP
Assist and guide operator associates on setup and maintenance
Maintain a clean, safe, and lean working environmentAbout you

Minimum 4 years of 5 axis machining experience, with at least 2 years in tool grinding
Ability to read technical drawings and use inspection equipment
Time-served apprenticeship preferred, or equivalent experience
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science desirable
Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel; AutoCAD knowledge a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to diagnose machine issuesWhat you'll get in return

Please note:

During a period of training you will be required to work 38 hours Monday to Thursday, then the position will move to a permanent 38 hours shift Thursday to Sunday.
