CNC Programmer / Machinist (Precision Engineering)

We're working in partnership with a highly respected precision engineering business in Medway that is continuing to invest in its machining capability and is now looking to appoint an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional who wants more than just a "machine shop role" - offering the chance to take ownership of programming, influence machining processes, and work on complex, low-volume precision components.
???? The Opportunity
This position sits at the heart of the machine shop, where you'll be involved in programming, setting and machining bespoke components to tight tolerances.
You'll play a key role in ensuring efficiency, quality and continuous improvement across production, working closely with a small, knowledgeable team.
???? Your Responsibilities
Programming CNC machines
Setting and machining a range of precision components
Interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications
Optimising programs and machining methods to improve cycle times
Problem-solving and supporting machining challenges on the shop floor
Carrying out inspection and quality checks to maintain high standards
Contributing to process improvements and best practice
✅ What We're Looking For
Strong CNC programming and machining background
Experience working within precision/low-volume engineering environments
Ability to manufacture components to tight tolerances
Confident reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain or similar controls
A proactive, solutions-focused mindsetDesirable:
Experience with multi-axis machining or complex components
Manual machining experience
