CNC 5-Axis Machinist / Setter Operator - Mazak VARIAXIS J500 & J600
Location: Gloucester
Salary: £48,000 per annum
Shift: Permanent Full Time

The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC 5-Axis Machinist / Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in Gloucester.
Working with Mazak VARIAXIS J500 and J600 5-axis machining centres, you will be responsible for setting, operating and optimising machining processes to produce high-precision components to exacting quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate Mazak VARIAXIS J500 and J600 machining centres
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Perform tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments
Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards
Conduct first-off and in-process inspections
Ensure machines are running efficiently and minimise downtime
Maintain a safe and organised working environment
Work collaboratively with production, quality and engineering teams
Requirements
Proven experience setting and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres
Experience with Mazak machinery and Mazatrol controls preferred
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Knowledge of precision machining techniques and tooling
Experience working to tight tolerances
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
