Jonathan Lee Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a collaborative CNC Programmer to join our client's thriving team. This full-time CNC Programming role is based in Bedfordshire and offers an attractive salary and benefits package.

As a CNC Programmer, you will be working as part of an integrated Design & Manufacturing team responsible for producing high-value 1-off wind tunnel model components to quality, time, and budget, in accordance with project manufacturing tolerances and schedules. You will complete off-line CNC milling programming using Delcam Powermill and Powershape, ensuring material waste is minimised and the best use of the machine tool's capabilities is made.

To give you an idea of how this flexible role would look and feel, here are some things you could expect to do:

Raise "program master record" (PMR) sheets as instructions on how to manufacture the part
Regular communication and coordination with CNC Section Team Leader, CNC Technical Lead, and other Model Making Centre teams to ensure understanding of progress with CNC parts, in particular required quality and delivery dates for the completion of CNC operations
Ensure the minimum direct (project) booking requirement is achieved using correct project booking codes for work completed
When on shifts, ensure a safe and timely handover of the work in progress to the incoming shift and team leader, ensuring that adequate notes and technical advice are available
Make recommendations for process improvement in CNC techniques, where appropriate, to the CNC Section Team Leader

Highly proficient writing off-line 3 & 5 axis milling programmes using Delcam Powermill and Powershape (2018 and 2019)
Ability to write programmes for 5-axis milling
A team player, confident and capable of mentoring and coaching less experienced CNC Programming/Setter/Operating staff
Flexible and positive attitude, willing to go the extra mile to ensure that project manufacturing schedules are met or exceeded
Self-motivated and keen attention to detail, in terms of quality of work produced and adherence to the project schedule
