CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator
My client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their engineering team in Poole.
This is an excellent opportunity for a fully skilled CNC professional with strong experience in CNC turning, FANUC controls and the aerospace industry.
The Role
As a CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathe machines to manufacture high-quality precision components in accordance with customer drawings and specifications.
Your key responsibilities will include:

Programming, setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathe machines using FANUC control systems.
*
Producing both offline and online CNC programmes.
*
Programming using Edgecam software — experience is advantageous but not essential.
*
Manufacturing precision turned components to customer drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
*
Carrying out in-process and final inspection of your own work in line with drawing and SPC requirements.
*
Maintaining a consistently high standard of engineering workmanship and attention to detail.
*
Maintaining your work area to a high standard in accordance with 5C/5S principles.
*
Working effectively within a quality-focused engineering environment, particularly within the aerospace sector.
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will ideally have:
*
A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
*
Proven experience as a fully skilled CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator.
*
Strong experience programming and operating FANUC-controlled CNC machinery.
*
Previous experience within the aerospace industry.
*
A high standard of general engineering ability, with excellent attention to detail and quality.
*
Experience working with Nakamura machines and bar feeders would be advantageous, but is not essential.
*
Experience with Edgecam programming/software would be advantageous.
*
The ability to interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings and specifications.
*
A strong understanding of quality, inspection and SPC requirements.
