CNC Operator

Description:

We are recruiting for various CNC Operator roles to join a very well established engineering company supplying the oil and gas, power, chemical processing and water treatment industries with flow systems. These are full time permanent roles based in Glasgow (roles available near Renfrew and Rutherglen areas of Glasgow).

You will be working Monday to Thursday 7.30am-4.30pm and Fridays 7.30am-12.30pm and the role is offering a salary up to £35k per annum based on experience plus excellent benefits!

As CNC Operator you will be working in a team environment operating the CNC (could be one or all of the Lathes and Horizontal and Vertical Milling machines) and manual machinery with responsibility for the inspection of finished goods off the machine to ensure process control. Your duties will include:

Operate and make adjustments to a multi axis CNC Machining Centre
Operate manual machines Lathe, Drill, Mill
De-burr castings after machining
Quality assurance inspection of parts according to drawings and requirements
Maintain efficiency records of equipment
Manual statistical testing to ensure machine is to specifications
Review and update setups and working methods / procedures including SOP’s.
Manual statistical testing to ensure machine is to specifications
Implement and improve the company’s Quality system.
Will be required to work in other areas as and when required.
We are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:

Time served CNC Machinist or equivalent
Machine operation experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing setting.
Ability to programme on Shop Mill system preferred but not essential
Milling Machining skills desirable
2/3 Axis programming skills required as a minimum
Any experience of operating CNC lathes, or horizontal or vertical milling machines (Harrison Alpha, Mori Seiki or Daewoo specifically would be advantageous)
Ability to understand and work with complex Engineering Drawings
Maths and mechanical skills are essential
Must be willing to get Security Clearance
