Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (37.5 weekly hours)

CNC Milling Machine Operator / Setter
The Role
Our client is a well-established engineering manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced CNC Milling Machine Operator / Setter to join their production team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating the machine, loading materials and tooling, adjusting offsets and producing high-quality components to engineering specifications.
Please note: this is not a programming role. The role is focused on machine setting, operating, and machining components accurately.
CNC Milling Machine Operator / Setter
Key Responsibilities
Set and operate an XYZ SMX 4(Apply online only) milling machine.
Use a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller as part of day-to-day machine operation.
Load and secure materials, tooling and fixtures.
Adjust tooling, machine settings and fixture offsets as required.
Carry out machining of components to engineering drawings and specifications.
Use measuring and inspection equipment to check components against required tolerances.
Read, interpret and work from engineering drawings.
Complete production and quality documentation accurately.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working area in line with company procedures.
Support team working and continuous improvement within the manufacturing environment.
Previous machining experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Confident using measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers and gauges.
Able to work accurately to tight tolerances.
Good understanding of health and safety within a machine shop environment.
Reliable, practical, and quality-focused approach to work.
Experience operating an XYZ SMX 4(Apply online only) milling machine.
Experience using a ProtoTRAK / ProTRAK controller.
Experience machining of stainless steel or similar engineering materials.
Time-served engineering apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.

Previous machining experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
