The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer to join a specialist engineering business based in Rugby.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist with strong programming capability who is looking to join a technically focused manufacturing environment where precision, quality and engineering expertise are highly valued.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machinery, producing high-precision components from detailed engineering drawings and customer specifications.

The Role

As a CNC Miller Programmer, your responsibilities will include:

Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines

Creating, editing and optimising CNC programmes

Working confidently with G-code based controls

Programming directly at the machine where required

Working with Fanuc controls and Mill+

Programming and machining 4-axis components

Setting and running jobs through from initial setup to completion

Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings

Selecting appropriate tooling and machining strategies

Producing components to tight tolerances and specified quality standards

Carrying out in-process inspection and quality checks

Identifying and resolving machining or programming issues

Making programme adjustments to optimise machining processes

Working independently and taking ownership of assigned work

About You

We're looking for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer with a strong background in precision machining and CNC programming.

Ideally, you will have:

10+ years' experience in CNC milling

Strong CNC programming, setting and operating experience

Proven experience writing and editing CNC programmes

Good knowledge of Fanuc controls

Experience using Mill+

Previous experience with 4-axis machining

Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds and machining processes

The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings

Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach

Excellent problem-solving and technical skills

The ability to work independently and use your own initiative

Good communication and organisational skills
