About Our Client
We are recruiting on behalf of a highly respected, rapidly growing precision manufacturing specialist based just south of Cambridge. Operating out of a modern, clean, and state-of-the-art facility, they are a leading subcontractor supplying high-precision components to critical sectors including medical devices, scientific instruments, aerospace, and opt-electronics.
Recognized for their continuous investment in multi-axis CNC technology, CAD/CAM software, and automation, they focus heavily on high-value, low-to-medium volume, and complex prototype work. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled CNC Miller looking to work with modern machinery in an environment that truly values its workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
*
Set up and run modern multi-axis CNC milling centres (including 3, 4, and 5-axis machines) for small batches and complex prototype runs.
*
Interpret 3rd-angle engineering drawings. Load, edit, and optimize programs on the machine controller (Heidenhain or Siemens controls).
*
Machine high-precision parts from a wide variety of materials, ranging from aerospace-grade aluminium and stainless steel to exotic alloys and high-performance engineering plastics.
*
Use standard inspection equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to complete first-off and in-process inspection to strict ISO 9001 standards.
*
Maintain a clean, organized cell environment and perform routine machine maintenance.
What We Are Looking For
*
Solid background as a CNC Miller, with strong setting and operating experience. Program-editing or programming capability is highly desirable.
*
Prior experience with Siemens or Heidenhain controls is essential.
*
Previous experience programming offline using CAM software is highly preferred. The company use Hypermill and FeatureCAM, but any other software is welcome.
*
Absolute confidence in reading, translating, and machining from technical drawings and CAD models.
*
Experience working to tight tolerances (often within microns) for high-tech industries where quality is paramount.
*
A reliable, self-motivated individual who enjoys technical problem-solving and works well within a collaborative team.
What’s on Offer?
*
Highly competitive rates tailored to your exact experience level.
*
Available at premium rates (1.5x) to boost your earning potential.
*
Work with the latest multi-axis machining centres, advanced CAD/CAM software, and automated loading systems.
*
Join a financially robust, expanding business with opportunities for professional development and training.
*
Generous company pension, solid holiday allowance, and a clean, friendly working environment
