Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Miller to join our client's manufacturing team in Tewkesbury on a contract basis. Supporting projects across the aerospace, automotive, and maritime sectors, this role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a precision engineering environment producing high-quality machined components to demanding industry standards.

The successful candidate will be experienced in setting and operating CNC milling machinery, with strong knowledge of FANUC controls and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling machines using FANUC OI-MF/FANUC control systems.
Manufacture precision components in accordance with customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
Perform tool setting, tool changes, and offset adjustments.
Conduct first-off and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with drawing tolerances and SPC requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the machining process.
Ensure work areas are maintained in line with 5S/5C housekeeping principles.
Identify and report any machining, tooling, or quality issues.
Contribute to the efficiency and productivity of the machining department while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

Essential

Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
Strong working knowledge of FANUC controls.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Experience carrying out self-inspection using standard measuring equipment.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
Completed recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Manufacturing.

Desirable

Experience within the aerospace manufacturing sector.
Experience with mill-turn or turning operations.
Knowledge of Nakamura machines with bar feed systems.
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements.
Experience working within AS9100 or similar quality-controlled environments.

Working Hours

Night Shift

Core hours: 8:00 PM - 3:00 AM
39 hours per week
