The Opportunity
Are you an experienced CNC Machinist / Programmer looking to work on complex, high-precision aerospace components?
We are recruiting for a skilled CNC Machinist / Programmer to join a leading aerospace manufacturing business based in Castle Donington. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly skilled machine shop, manufacturing precision components for the aerospace industry while working with the latest multi-axis CNC technology.
You'll be involved in both new product introduction (NPI) and established production programmes, working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality components in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate and program 5-axis CNC milling machines.
Manufacture complex, high-precision aerospace components to tight tolerances.
Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, feeds and speeds to maximise efficiency.
Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
Carry out in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment.
Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to support NPI projects.
Optimise machining processes to improve cycle times and productivity.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
Perform routine machine maintenance and TPM activities.
Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and 5S.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a CNC Machinist / Programmer within aerospace, motorsport or another precision engineering environment.
Strong experience with 5-axis CNC milling machines.
Knowledge of CNC programming using ISO or Fanuc controls.
Ability to read complex engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
Experience machining high-performance or exotic materials.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing right-first-time components.
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
Able to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.What's on offer
