An opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator to join a leading UK manufacturer of data centre infrastructure, telecom enclosures, outdoor cabinets and modular data centre solutions for critical industries including telecommunications, rail, utilities, defence, and enterprise data centres. 

Working within a well-equipped workshop, you'll use your machining expertise to support refurbishment, repair and manufacturing activities, helping to maintain the high standards required across a range of technical engineering projects.

Your responsibilities as CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator

Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines and workshop equipment
Interpret engineering drawings and determine machining processes and sequences
Manufacture and refurbish components to precise tolerances and specifications
Use measuring equipment including callipers and micrometers to ensure accuracy
Support tooling modifications, fault diagnosis and reverse engineering activities
Maintain workshop standards in line with safety procedures and 5S principles
What we’re looking for in a CNC Machinist/Mechanical Machine Operator

Extensive experience operating and setting manual lathes and milling machines
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
Mechanical engineering qualification at ONC, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent standard
Previous apprenticeship, machining qualification or equivalent practical expertise
Experience using precision measuring equipment and working to tight tolerances
Working Hours
20 hours per week with full flexibility to work either half days or full days.
