CNC Machinist (PM Shift)

Location: Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire (commutable from High Wycombe, Leighton Buzzard, Bicester, Milton Keynes, Tring, Hemel Hempstead, Princes Risborough and surrounding areas)

Salary: £32,000 - £39,500 per annum (including 15% shift allowance)

Hours: Monday to Wednesday 1:30pm - 11:30pm | Thursday 1:30pm - 11:00pm (37.5 hours per week)

Syntech Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established precision engineering manufacturer in their search for a CNC Machinist to join their growing production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist with at least two years' manufacturing experience who enjoys a varied role combining CNC programming, setting and operating with conventional machining.
You'll be manufacturing high-quality precision components within a modern, well-equipped machine shop using Dugard and Hartford machining centres.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities

* Program, set and operate Dugard and Hartford CNC machining centres

* Manufacture precision components to tight engineering tolerances

* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

* Select appropriate tooling, cutting speeds and feeds for a range of materials

* Carry out first-off inspections and in-process quality checks

* Adjust offsets and programs to maintain dimensional accuracy

* Operate conventional manual lathes, milling machines and drills

* Deburr and finish machined components to specification

* Complete job cards and production documentation accurately

CNC Machinist Requirements

* Minimum of 2 years' experience within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment

* Proven experience programming, setting and operating CNC machining centres

* Experience working on Dugard, Hartford or similar CNC machines

* Experience programming using G-code or CAM software

* Experience with Siemens, Fanuc or similar CNC controlsStrong conventional/manual machining experience

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

* Good understanding of geometric tolerancing and surface finishes

* Experience machining stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium
