Hourly Rate: Up to £21 per hour + overtime

This Contractor / Temp CNC Machinist role is a brilliant opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who enjoys variety, pace and the satisfaction of producing high-quality work from day one. The business specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of high-precision components and assemblies for the Motorsport sector, working as an F1 Tier 1 supplier. Working with advanced 5-axis machining centres, you will play a central role in delivering complex, high-quality components to exacting standards in a lively, deadline-driven setting.

As a Contractor / Temp CNC Machinist your responsibilities will include:

·       Setting, operating and optimising 5-axis CNC machining centres, including Matsuura Fanuc and DMG Mori, as part of a small, skilled machining team

·       Work hands-on across daily production activity, keeping machines running efficiently and supporting customer deadlines through high-quality output

·       Prove out prototype and new production components, providing feedback on tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting strategies

·       Read engineering drawings, carry out in-process inspection and ensure tight tolerances, quality procedures and production standards are achieved

·       Troubleshoot machining, tooling and production issues while maintaining a safe, organised working environment in line with ISO9001 standards

As a Contractor / Temp CNC Machinist, you will need:

·       Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment, ideally working on prototype or low-volume, high-complexity components

·       Strong 5-axis machining experience, including setting, operating and programming CNC machining centres

·       Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls, including probing cycles, kinematics, G-code programming, tooling optimisation and machine setup

·       Confident reading engineering drawings, understanding GD&T and using measuring equipment to inspect tight-tolerance components

·       A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work well as part of a small team, manage your own priorities and solve problems quickly
