Job Title: CNC Machinist

Location: Daventry

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 PA + Overtime 1.5x hourly rate

This CNC Machinist role is part of a dedicated machine shop team working at a rapidly expanding precision engineering business. The business specialises in the design, manufacture and assembly of high-precision metal components and assemblies working with some of the biggest British OEMs.

As a CNC Machinist your responsibilities will include:

·      Setting, operating and optimising CNC machinery across milling and turning applications

·      Working on advanced 5-axis machinery, with 3+2 machining experience also considered

·      Operating CNC machines including Matsuura and DMG machinery

·      Working with Heidenhain and Fanuc controls to produce high-precision components

·      Proving out prototype and new production components, providing feedback on tooling, speeds, feeds and cutting strategies

·      Reading engineering drawings, carrying out in-process inspection and ensuring tight tolerances, quality procedures and production standards are achieved

As a CNC Machinist you will need:

·      Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment, ideally working on prototype or low-volume, high-complexity components

·      Strong CNC milling and/or CNC turning experience, with the ability to set, operate and optimise CNC machinery

·      Experience working on 5-axis machinery, although candidates with strong 3+2 experience will also be considered

·      Ideally knowledge of Heidenhain and/or Fanuc controls, including machine setup, tooling optimisation, probing cycles and programme prove-out

·      Confident reading engineering drawings, understanding GD&T and using measuring equipment to inspect tight-tolerance components

This CNC Machinist position would suit someone who enjoys being close to the machines, solving technical challenges and leading from the front. You will have the chance to make a real impact across production performance, team development and operational excellence.

If you are a skilled CNC Machinist, Miller or Turner looking for the next step in your career, we would love to hear from you and discuss your experience in more detail.
