CNC Machinist
Location: Bradford
Salary: £17+ per hour, depending on experience
Hours: 40 hours per week, with an early finish on Fridays
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a precision engineering manufacturer in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist with experience in CNC turning and manual machining, who can confidently set up, program and operate machinery with minimal supervision.
The role will primarily involve CNC turning using Hwaecheon machining centres and Colchester-Harrison lathes. Experience with Fanuc CNC controls would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities

Set up, program and operate CNC machinery safely and efficiently.
*
Carry out machining operations to meet engineering specifications and required tolerances.
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
*
Use gauges and precision measuring instruments to ensure component quality.
*
Monitor machinery performance and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
*
Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
*
Follow all health and safety procedures and quality standards.
*
Work independently with minimal supervision.
Skills and Experience
*
Experience operating and setting CNC and manual lathes, milling machines or similar equipment.
*
Experience with online programming and editing is essential.
*
Knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens or XYZ CNC controls.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*
Good understanding of mechanical engineering and machining principles.
*
Experience working to tight tolerances and quality specifications.
*
Apprentice-trained candidates preferred, although those qualified through experience will be considered.
*
Forklift truck licence would be beneficial.
Desirable Experience
Experience machining screwed shafts, including ACME and trapezoidal threads, using travelling steadies would be particularly advantageous.
