CNC Engineer – Die Casting
Location: Burnley
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–3:00pm
Salary: £35,000
We’re looking for an experienced CNC Engineer to join a busy manufacturing environment in Burnley, working with die-cast aluminium and zinc components.
This is a hands-on role covering CNC setting, operating and programming, with a strong focus on quality, accuracy and continuous improvement.
The Role
* Set, operate and programme CNC machines, including milling, turning and machining centres
* Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
* Select tooling, fixtures and work-holding equipment
* Set tooling offsets, speeds and feeds
* Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
* Make programme adjustments to improve quality, cycle times and tool life
* Machine aluminium, zinc and other die-cast components
* Identify and resolve machining, tooling and quality issues
* Use precision measuring equipment including verniers, micrometers and gauges
* Carry out basic machine checks and preventative maintenance
* Support continuous improvement, 5S and lean manufacturing activities
About You
You’ll ideally have previous experience in a CNC machining/engineering environment and be confident with setting and operating CNC machinery.
You should have:
* Good knowledge of CNC machining and tooling
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Experience working to tight tolerances
* Strong inspection and measuring skills
* Good fault-finding and problem-solving ability
* High attention to detail and quality
* Experience with die-cast materials would be advantageous
* CNC programming experience (Fanuc, Siemens or Heidenhain) would be beneficial
