Description:

Our client has been trading for over 5 decades, they are a widely recognised and established Supermarket/Cash and Carry retailer to the trade and public. You will be working within the refurbished store in Nechells.  Our client are renowned for its exceptional standards and currently seeking a dedicated Cleaning Team Leader to join the business. 

As our Cleaning Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of cleaning staff whilst working closely with the team managers to ensure high standards of cleaning are delivered and maintained.

This is a vital role in ensuring a clean environment for our customers, which will support and help maintain and improve the levels of customer service throughout the store.

The role will entail a small allocation of cleaning duties and supervisory aspects of the cleaning team, providing cover if and or when required through absence.

Paying: £12.99 per hour

Working Hours: 40 hours per week. Between the hours of 07:00am-18:15pm - 30 hours a week plus overtime. Working 5 days out of 7.  Sunday hours will be between 9.00am – 17.00pm

Daily Responsibilities:

Perform cleaning duties within the business while also leading and supporting the team.

Ensure all team members receive comprehensive training to perform their duties efficiently and safely.

Supervise daily and periodic tasks to maintain the highest standards, overseeing staff to ensure timely completion and providing assistance as needed.

Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring the team has necessary equipment and consumables, and accounting for stock levels. Provide coverage or assistance in cleaning to elevate standards as necessary.

Review daily paperwork for accuracy and completion.

Coach and mentor team members to meet required standards and company expectations.

Coordinate with management to discuss and uphold cleaning standards.

Conduct return-to-work meetings with team members following absences.

Address performance issues within the team promptly and effectively.

Maintain a safe working environment for all team members.

Conduct weekly audits of the team's work to identify areas for improvement.

Assist in recruitment and induction processes as needed.

Monitor staff punctuality, ensuring timely arrival and departure, as well as proper sign-in and sign-out procedures.

Conduct refresher training sessions with cleaning operatives in accordance with toolbox talks guidelines.

Keep site policies and notices up to date on notice boards and promptly notify the Line Manager of any necessary updates.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed:

Experience working as a Team Leader is essential

Excellent Time Management skills.

IT skills- Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

To lead and motivate the team in accordance with company core values.

Experience in cleaning is preferred.

Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks.

Excellent time management skills to ensure efficient completion of assigned duties.

You will need to be:

Self-driven.

Happy to support other departments.

A good communicator and problem solver

Committed to providing excellent customer service.

Happy to be flexible in your working shifts and patterns as required by the business, including working weekends.
