As a Clay Sculptor at our OEM Client, you will become part of a very special dedicated team of highly motivated and skilled people producing the most elegant and beautiful cars in the world.

As part of the team you have the ability to sculpt the future of their brand – from the iconic Exterior proportions to the jewellery detailing on the Interior, the Modelling Team are at the heart of the Design process. As a Clay Sculptor the candidate will learn over the development period to produce Sketch and Master models out of various materials but predominantly clay. These will include full size Exterior and Interior models, 40% models, hard foam models and RPT models whilst working closely with the other disciplines within Design.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks:

• Support the Design Team with the delivery of 3D physical design properties.

• Work directly with the Design Team to develop 3D design properties for Design reviews.

• Able to work as a part of a highly motivated team with commitment to getting the job done in the desired timescale and to the required high standards.

• Contribute effectively to team technical discussions to ensure that the 3D design proposals are understood.

• Supporting the Designers with feasible solutions to design proposals.

• Support Design freshening activities, where directed, with revised or new design packages.

• Carry out special projects, as directed by management.

• Keep abreast of technical developments within the industry, with particular reference to the evolution of new technologies which could affect design processes.

• Comprehensively learn the scanning process in order to turn the clay surfaces into digital measured data.

• Learn and use the laser etching machine.

• Support in the building of SLA parts for Design purposes.

• Plan and prioritise own workload set by Modelling Manager.

• Must be flexible and willing to work at any location when needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Design/Model Making Qualifications.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar position.

• Good eye for 3D design proportions.

• Computer literacy needed to support design process.

• Good communication skills to be able to interact with other disciplines.

• A strong Team player with a very flexible ‘can do’ attitude
