Pay: £17.93 per hour (Umbrella rate, PAYE option available)
Assignment: Temporary, Monday 12 October to Friday 16 October 2026 (5 days)
Hours: 07:00am - 17:00pm

About the Role
Prime Placers are recruiting an experienced HIAB Lorry Loader Driver with remote grab experience for a well-established builders merchant in Ashton-under-Lyne. This is a full week's work starting Monday 12 October, ideal for an experienced driver looking for immediate, reliable work with a busy, friendly depot.
You'll be delivering building materials to construction sites, trade customers and domestic addresses across Greater Manchester and the surrounding areas. You'll use a lorry-mounted crane with a remote-operated grab to offload safely and efficiently at each drop.
Key Responsibilities
You'll carry out safe, timely multi-drop deliveries of building materials such as bricks, blocks, bulk bags of aggregate, timber, plasterboard and palletised goods. You'll operate the lorry loader crane and remote grab, positioning loads accurately and safely on site, and you'll plan and assess each lift, including ground conditions, overhead hazards and the safety of the public. You'll also complete daily vehicle and crane walkaround checks and report any defects, secure loads correctly, complete delivery paperwork and proof of delivery, and give customers a professional, helpful service on site.
Requirements
* A valid Category C (Class 2) UK driving licence with no more than [6] points and no DR, DD, IN or CD endorsements
* Valid Driver CPC (DQC card) and digital tachograph card
* A current Lorry Loader certification, such as ALLMI, NPORS or CPCS, that covers remote grab operation
* Proven recent experience operating a HIAB / lorry loader with a remote grab, ideally in builders merchant or construction delivery work
* A good working knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph rules
* Your own PPE (safety boots, hi-vis and gloves) [confirm if the client supplies it]
* Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude on customer sites
