Class 1 HGV Driver – Birmingham

Pay Rate: £17.84 per hour
Job Type: Ongoing / Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for an established logistics operation based in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional HGV driver looking for regular, ongoing work with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful qualifying period.
The Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of palletised goods.
Your duties will include:
Driving Class 1 vehicles safely and responsibly.
Completing deliveries and collections to customer locations.
Handling palletised goods using a tail lift and pump truck where required.
Ensuring deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
Assisting customers with deliveries where required.
Completing delivery paperwork and digital delivery records.
Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting any defects.
Complying with all drivers' hours, tachograph and company procedures.
Providing excellent customer service at every delivery.What We're Offering

You will need:
A valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Good knowledge of drivers' hours and tachograph regulations
A professional attitude and excellent timekeeping
Good customer service skills
Experience with palletised deliveries
Experience using a tail lift and pump truck is advantageous
No more than 6 penalty points (some endorsements may not be accepted)All driver documentation and a DVLA licence check will be completed before you start.
First Shift
Drivers will complete a short induction before their first shift, covering the digital delivery system, Safe Systems of Work, tail lift operation and a brief tachograph test.
