Class 1 HGV Day Driver – £17.06ph - Doncaster - Temp to perm
We are recruiting experienced Class 1 (C+E) HGV Drivers to join a reputable and well known client of ours in Doncaster.
This role involves delivering goods to supermarket stores, ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Driving a Class 1 vehicle to deliver goods to stores.
* Completing store deliveries in line with planned routes and delivery schedules.
* Handling cages and roll containers.
* Safely manoeuvring the vehicle in store delivery areas and loading bays.
* Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any defects.
* Completing delivery paperwork and following all delivery procedures.
* Maintaining regular communication with the transport team regarding delays or issues.
* Following drivers' hours regulations, road traffic laws and company health and safety procedures.
* Providing a professional and courteous service when delivering to Tesco stores.
* Ensuring goods are transported securely and handled with care.
Requirements
* Valid Class 1 (C+E) driving licence.
* Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
* Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred.
* Comfortable with store deliveries and handling cages or roll containers.
* Good understanding of drivers' hours and road safety regulations.
* Reliable, punctual and professional approach to work.
