We are currently recruiting for one reliable and experienced Class 1 HGV Driver to join our client on a temp-to-perm basis.

???? The Role
As a Class 1 driver, you will be responsible for carrying out deliveries and collections safely and efficiently while representing the company professionally at all times.

The role will involve the securement of loads using ratchet straps, so previous hands-on experience with ratchet and strap load securing is essential.

You will be expected to complete vehicle checks, safely secure your loads and follow all relevant company, site and road safety procedures.

New starter induction: 7:00am start on the first day

Ongoing start times: Approximately 5:00am–5:30am

Shift length: Approximately 8–10 hours

Experience using ratchet straps for load securing is essential

Full induction and site familiarisation provided

???? Start Times & Induction
Your first day will begin at 7:00am, allowing time for a full induction and site familiarisation.

You'll be shown around the site, introduced to the relevant procedures and given an understanding of the daily operation before beginning your regular shifts.

Following the induction, agency drivers will generally be required to start between 5:00am and 5:30am.

Please only apply if you are comfortable with early morning starts.

⏱️ Working Hours
Shifts are expected to be approximately 8–10 hours, depending on the workload and operational requirements.

The role is suited to drivers looking for regular, ongoing work with the potential to move into permanent employment.

???? Ratchet & Strap Experience – ESSENTIAL
Previous experience securing loads using ratchet straps is essential for this position.

You must be confident in:

Correctly positioning and using ratchet straps

Securing loads safely and effectively

Checking that loads are properly restrained before travelling

Carrying out appropriate load-security checks throughout your shift

Working safely when loading and securing vehicles

Candidates without previous ratchet-and-strap load-securing experience may not be suitable for this role.

???? The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a professional, reliable and safety-conscious Class 1 driver who takes pride in their work.

You should:

Hold a valid Class 1 (C+E) licence

Have a valid Driver CPC

Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card

Have previous Class 1 HGV driving experience

Have hands-on experience using ratchet straps and securing loads

Be confident carrying out vehicle safety checks

Be reliable and punctual

Be comfortable with 5:00am–5:30am starts

Be able to work approximately 8–10 hour shifts

Have a professional attitude and good communication skills

Have a strong commitment to safe working practices

Be interested in progressing into a permanent position
