Cladding & Glazing Maintenance Technician (IRATA Training Provided)

Details:
Description:

Cladding & Glazing Maintenance Technician — we'll train you in rope access

If you've spent your career fitting rainscreen panels, curtain walling, cladding systems, or structural glazing, you already have the hardest part of this job sorted: you know how these systems are built, where they go wrong, and what a defect actually looks like. This role puts that knowledge to work on ongoing maintenance and inspection — accessing buildings by rope rather than scaffold or MEWP, which we'll train you to do.

With a lot of remediation and cladding work currently stuck behind Building Safety Act approvals and cost pressures, we know there are experienced cladding and glazing tradespeople between projects, or looking for a more stable long-term direction. This role is built for exactly that.

The role

You'll carry out inspection, diagnostic, and maintenance work on facades, cladding systems, and glazing on buildings across the country. Work is varied: defect surveys, remedial repairs, sealant and fixing checks, leak investigation support, and ongoing maintenance contracts. Access is by rope, scaffold & MEWP — full IRATA training and certification is provided, no prior rope experience needed.

Trace Surveys holds UKAS ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for watertightness testing, so this isn't just a visual once-over — you'll be assessing the workmanship of cladding and glazing installations to a recognised, accredited standard.

What you'll bring

* Hands-on trade background in cladding, facade, or glazing installation/maintenance (installer, fitter, applicator, or similar)

* Comfortable working outdoors and at height in some capacity already (scaffold, MEWP, or similar)

* Willingness to complete a working-at-height medical and rope access training (fully funded by us — IRATA Level 1 and beyond)

* Good eye for detail — you'll be the one spotting what others miss

* Driving licence & right to work in UK

What we provide

* Fully funded rope access training (IRATA Level 1) and ongoing certification

* Structured progression toward IRATA Level 2/3 as logged hours build

* Vehicle, phone, laptop, pension

* Competitive salary

* A genuine long-term career path, not just a course certificate

No rope access experience needed — we're looking for the facade/cladding knowledge and the right attitude to height work. Full training is provided and paid for
