Civils Works Manager

We are currently looking for a Civils Works Manager for an important Civils client of ours based in Hinckley, Leicestershire

The Works Manager will oversee operations, coordinates resources, ensures safety and quality compliance, and leads teams to achieve project or plant objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project and Operations Management: Oversee daily activities on construction sites, manufacturing plants, or municipal works to ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards
Team Leadership: Lead and supervise staff, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring productivity, compliance, and effective communication
Resource Allocation: Manage labor, equipment, and materials efficiently to optimize workflow and operational efficiency
Health and Safety Compliance: Implement and monitor safety protocols, ensuring a secure work environment and adherence to industry regulations
Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of work quality, monitor project progress, and enforce compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Strategic Planning: Develop production schedules, project plans, and operational strategies to meet organizational goals
Problem Solving: Address on-site challenges, resolve conflicts, and ensure smooth operations across all departments or project areas
Works Managers may also be responsible for budget management, logistics coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives in production or operational processes 
In municipal or public works contexts, the role may include oversight of infrastructure maintenance, waste management, and community service projects 
 This role is critical for ensuring that projects or operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all standards, while providing leadership and guidance to teams across multiple functions.

Essential Requirements

Highways & Civils Experience: Strong, practical track record working as a Works Manager, General Foreman, or Senior General Foreman on UK highways or local authority roads projects.
Hands-On Leadership: Proven ability to manage direct workforces and sub-contractors efficiently on live, fast-paced civil engineering schemes.
Site Ready & Qualified: Must hold a valid CSCS card, SMSTS, and First Aid at Work (NRSWA / Streetworks qualifications are highly desirable).
Location & Mobility: Based in or commutable to Hinckley, Leicestershire area with a full UK driving licence to cover regional site operations.Can any candidates interested in applying please send their CV through to Steve
