Role: Civils Site Chargehand
Location: Wales & The Southwest
Package: £45,000 + van + bens
As Gang Team Leader / Foreman / Chargehand you will be responsible for the supervision of site activities and assisting the Site Supervisor to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements, quality procedures, programme compliance, site documentation procedures, maintenance of site records, management and productivity of direct employees, agency labour and subcontractor resources in accordance with our clients and National Grid’s policies and procedures.
Monitoring of quality and signing of quality documentation for all activities.
Ensure good housekeeping is maintained both on site and in the shared welfare facilities. Reporting of faulty welfare facilities to Site Supervisor to ensure adequate facilities are constantly provided for staff.
Assist Site Supervisor in carrying out daily/weekly inspections of all plant equipment and tools is carried out and Alliance documentation is completed. Reporting of faulty plant/equipment & ensuring this is quarantined & rectified.
Assist Site Supervisor in maintaining a sufficient stock of site materials/consumables to progress programmed works.
Lead by example in all aspects of daily work life including; Safety, attitude to co-workers, management and visitors, Quality, appearance and adherence to MES procedures and site rules.
Assist Site Supervisor in fostering and creating efficient working parties.
Required Qualifications
City in Guilds or NVQ in relevant Field of Expertise
Desirable Qualifications
SSSTS Site Supervisor
CSCS / CPCS / ECITB Safety Passport / Card [supervisory preferred but not essential]
National Grid Competent Person
General Experience
Ability to work without direct supervision
Ability to operate on own initiative within a prescribed framework but escalate problems where necessary.
At least two years experience working in the Electricity Transmission or Distribution industries essential for Mechanical / Disciplines – preferred for Civil Disciplines
