Civil / Senior Civil Engineer

Norwich outskirts

£50k - £60 plus benefits

Are you a Civil Engineer looking for your next challenge with a thriving consultancy offering an exciting mix of projects and the opportunity to make a real impact? Our client is looking to strengthen its established civil engineering team with the appointment of a Civil Engineer through to Senior level, based on the outskirts of Norwich.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit team working across a diverse portfolio of sectors, including food retail, education, commercial developments, petrol filling stations and electric vehicle charging facilities. With a strong pipeline of work and a varied project portfolio, this role offers the chance to take ownership of interesting schemes while developing your technical expertise and professional career.

The successful candidate will be involved in a broad range of civil engineering design work, including foul and surface water drainage, flood risk assessments and compensatory storage design, SuDS and drainage strategies, pavement design for private and residential developments, large concrete yard layouts incorporating bay and joint design, and Section 278 highway works and junction design.

Projects range from new high-rise student accommodation for universities to school sports facilities, new-build commercial developments, retail fit-outs and an extensive portfolio of petrol filling station schemes. This variety provides an opportunity to work across different sectors and tackle a wide range of technical challenges.

Our client is seeking a Civil Engineer with ideally five or more years of post-graduate experience, although applications from candidates at different levels will be considered. A sound understanding of civil infrastructure design, particularly drainage, highways and development infrastructure, would be highly beneficial. Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Causeway Flow+ would be advantageous, alongside good working knowledge of standard Microsoft Office applications.

The successful candidate will join a supportive team comprising a Principal Civil Engineer, Civil Engineer and Apprentice Engineer, playing an important role in its continued growth and development.

The position is primarily office-based, five days per week, although flexible remote working may be available when appropriate, subject to agreement with the line manager.

In return, our client offers 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional day off for your birthday, a pension scheme, life insurance, access to health and wellbeing support for employees and their immediate families, and an optional salary sacrifice/pension exchange scheme.

If you are an ambitious Civil Engineer looking to join a friendly, growing team where you can contribute to a varied and interesting workload, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
