Description:

Senior Civil Engineer – BIM & Architectural Services
Remote role – Ideally Midlands based

About the Role

Osprey Engineering Solutions are currently working with a multidisciplinary engineering design company. They’re looking for a highly experienced Civil Engineer with advanced expertise in Building Information Modelling (BIM), structural design, and architectural coordination to join their UK team. This is a senior, client-facing position that combines technical leadership with business development responsibility.

You'll engage directly with architects, consultants, contractors, and developers across the UK and Europe — translating complex architectural and BIM requirements into actionable project deliverables, leading pre-contract discussions, and contributing to winning new projects for their UK business.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Business Development

* Engage with architects, consultants, contractors, and developers across the UK and Europe to understand BIM and architectural design requirements.

* Prepare and deliver technical presentations, proposals, and capability documents to prospective clients.

* Build long-term strategic partnerships with key accounts, driving repeat business and client satisfaction.

Project Coordination

* Act as primary liaison between clients and the offshore technical team to ensure clarity of scope, quality, and delivery timelines.

* Prepare detailed project briefs and work breakdown structures.

* Review models, drawings, and deliverables to ensure quality assurance before submission.

Technical Expertise

* Strong foundation in civil and structural engineering — architectural design, load analysis, foundation design, reinforced concrete, and steel structures.

* Ability to review and validate engineering calculations.

* Proven expertise in BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), LOD standards, and ISO 19650 compliance.

* Hands-on 3D/4D/5D BIM experience.

* Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Civil 3D, Tekla Structures, Dynamo, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).

* Knowledge of interoperability standards (IFC, COBie, ReCap, Revit families) and model-based project delivery.

* Experience overseeing multi-disciplinary coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP services.

Qualifications & Skills

* Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering (essential).

* 8–10 years' professional experience in BIM and architectural/structural design projects.

* Experience working with international clients in the UK or European construction sector.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills for engaging senior stakeholders.

* Ability to balance technical leadership with client-facing business development.

* Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
