Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading timber processor to recruit a CHP Manager for its Troon site.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:

Contribute toward the achievement of the company's strategic and operational targets by carrying managerial responsibility for all phases of the plant.
Encourage and promote a safety culture that ensures all Health & Safety procedures and policies on site are adhered to for a safe working environment.
Ensure the plant is operated within environmental regulations and managed in a way that meets all statutory obligations.
Lead and managed a team of CHP Operators and support staff on a 24/7 shift pattern.
Take necessary actions to manage production costs and improve profitability as well as preparation and continual review of budgets.
Manage and liase key suppliers for the CHP plant to ensure competitiveness and quality.
Monthly reporting covering operational activity, P&L, H&S, maintenance works, and plant run hours.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Minimum of 5 years' experience in CHP Management or similar process plant environment, ideally with steam raising and electrical generation equipment.
Knowledge and experience in promoting a safe working environment, including in depth knowledge of PSSR and BG01.
Qualification in Biomass, Energy, Engineering or related field.
