Children's Support Worker – Residential Care – Crediton
Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated Children’s Support Worker to join a modern residential children’s home in Crediton. This is a rewarding opportunity to support young people aged 8-16 years with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and challenging behaviours.
Based in Crediton, the role offers the chance to work within a supportive and caring environment, helping young residents develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally. This position is suitable for compassionate, resilient individuals eager to contribute to a team dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Encouraging young people to participate in meaningful activities and take responsibility for their actions
* Creating and maintaining a homely, friendly environment within the residential setting
* Managing challenging behaviours with patience and professionalism
* Protecting children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
* Promoting independence and overall well-being for each young person
* Supporting young people through difficult behaviours safely and sympathetically
* Developing positive relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the care of the young residents
* Keeping up-to-date with individual care plans, guidelines, and communication preferences
Requirements:
* Experience as a Children’s Support Worker or in a youth or social care setting is desirable but not essential
* Experience within healthcare or social care environments is advantageous
* Full UK Driving Licence is required due to transportation needs
* Candidates must be over the age of 21 and able to commute to Crediton
