Team Leader – Children's Residential Care
Manchester | Multiple Locations | £33,000 – £35,000 per annum | 2 On, 4 Off
We are recruiting experienced Team Leaders for children's residential homes across Manchester, supporting young people with SEMH, EBD, and complex needs. These are permanent roles working a 2-on-4-off shift pattern, offering an excellent work-life balance alongside a competitive salary of £33k-£35k.
As Team Leader, you will support the Registered/Deputy Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, supervising and mentoring Residential Support Workers, and ensuring young people receive consistent, high-quality, therapeutic care in line with Ofsted standards and each child's care plan.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead shifts and provide direction to the staff team, acting as a positive role model
* Support the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and positive behaviour support strategies
* Build trusting, PACE-informed relationships with young people
* Support staff supervision, training, and development
* Ensure accurate records, reports, and documentation are maintained to Reg 44/45 and SCCIF standards
* Assist with on-call/emergency response as required by the home
What We're Looking For:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards) – Level 5 desirable
* Proven experience working with young people with SEMH/EBD/complex needs, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity
* Full UK driving licence (essential for most locations)
* Resilience, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for improving outcomes for young people
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
