Support Worker – EBD Residential Care for Young Adults in Exeter

Are you passionate about making a difference in young people's lives? We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a modern, semi-independent residential home in Exeter, supporting young adults aged 16-18 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where every day presents new challenges, and your support can help young people develop socially, emotionally, and behaviourally in a safe and caring setting.

Key Responsibilities

* Encourage young adults to participate in activities and take responsibility for their lives

* Maintain a welcoming, friendly environment to promote positive development

* Manage challenging behaviours safely and sympathetically

* Protect young people from risks to their health and welfare

* Support independence and well-being through personalised care plans

* Ensure a safe and secure environment at all times

* Build strong relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the young people's lives

* Support young people according to their care plans, reward systems, and communication preferences

Candidate Requirements

* Experience as a Children’s Residential Support Worker or working with young people is desirable but not essential

* Experience within healthcare or social care settings is advantageous

* Full UK driving licence is essential, as transportation of young people may be required

* Must be over 21 years old and able to commute to Exeter

* Passionate about supporting young people and making a positive impact in their lives

* Adaptable, motivated, and committed to delivering high-quality care in a busy environment

Work Patterns

* 40 hours per week

* Shift pattern: 9am - 10pm, sleep-in, 7am - 9am
